* Baby Elanor Rose *

So, I haven't been blogging for a while - and this little lady is the reason why!

Jon and I are very proud to announce the birth of Elanor Rose, born on 1st September, weighing 6.8 pounds in our bedroom at 10:11pm - after just 4 hours of established labour (she was in a hurry to arrive - and I was very happy to oblige!) We love her so much!

Here she is having just been born into the world.
On day 1, she met our families for the first time - it was a very special time for all of us.
We're learning lots as new parents - as you can see we're besotted...
...even if she does keep us awake at night!
More to come soon!

* Miffy & New Bibs *

The summer sun has inspired my baby bib making lately - I made this Birdie bib during my holiday in the South of France. The yellow of the sunflowers that were beginning to peep out in the vast sunflower fields (as well as Miffy's lovely yellow outfit) reminded me what a cheering colour bright yellow is - I'm sure baby will think the same!

Here is Miffy modelling the Birdie bib:

I also thought baby should have a funky set of bibs, so I'm embarking on making some bandanna style ones starting with this yellow 'starry' bib:
I embroidered some little stars with faces on some yellow cotton...it seems to be a bit big for Miffy, but will hopefully fit baby when she arrives!

I'm storing all my bibs and other little makes for baby in this basket - you can see some beautiful red and white knitted booties at the front - courtesy of brother Drew's knit-tastic mum, Mary!
Hope the summer sun is inspiring you too in your crafty/creative makes.

* Some Things My Friends Have Made...

Although my birthday was a quite a looong while ago now, I'd like to share some of the beautiful things that friends and family made for me, as well as some other crafty treats that I've been given recently. There's a range of talents here - crocheting,sewing, felting, embroidery... Its very inspiring to have such gifted friends and family!

Beegu:
Little sis Catherine made me this wonderful alien, Beegu - a character from one of my favourite children's picture books
Embroidery Hoop:
Charlotte made me this beautiful embroidery of my favourite Bible verse
Crochet shawl:
This pretty shawl was made by Helen - I can't wait to wear it when it gets colder...sitting by the fire wrapped in this beauty!
Crochet Coffee Wrap:
Anna has become a proficient crochet-er - an inspiration to me, as she learnt how to crochet pretty quickly and was straight onto making huge blankets and these snug coffee wraps! Mine stays in my handbag for whenever I buy a green tea or hot chocolate, to protect my mits!
Felt Pod:
A funky felt pod, made and dyed entirely from scratch by Debbie - I love it!Heart Pin Cushion:
This treat was hiding in the sewing box Charlotte gave me - she didn't think it was very good, but I think it's perfect
Sewing Bag:
Catherine had been a busy sewing bee, making me this cute sewing bag, as well as Beegu
...and a better snap of the wondrous sewing box from Charlotte - its magical, because it has 6 drawers that fold in and out!
T
hank you lovely friends!

* The Bestest Fox? *

So I went to see one of my all time favourite Disney films at the BFI (British Film Institute) the other night with some other loyal fans: Robin Hood! What a classic - the whole audience was over 25 and roaring with laughter pretty much everytime Peter Ustinov's Prince John made an appearence and 'ahh-ed' when the cute little bunnies said anything. I thought I'd share the iconic song, Oo-De-Lally with you on this sunny Friday!

Enjoy!

* What RoSi Bee Did Next *

Well it's been a while...I thought I'd share what I've been up to during the past month as I've not been near my little Mac Book for a while because I've been on some adventures! Here's a little peek at some of them:

* Wilderthorn Home Tour: lots of weekends have been taken up with me going on and filming/photographing husband Jon's new music tour across the UK - he's been performing in people's houses, front rooms and unusual spaces with people cramming in all cosy like, to experience an intimate, special musical experience.

Jon's bird artwork and badges are also shared (and sometimes sold!) on the tour too:

Wilderthorn Windmill Gig: people gathered at sunset on a beautiful night to listen to Jon's magical music with Dan on percussion inside a dis-used windmill on a hilltop...one of the best gigs I've been to!

* Check out some films and music from the HOME Tour here! *

Other adventures: a dreamy and restful South of France holiday with sister Sue and Brother-in-Law Drew:

...and finally, attending a Red Nose Day 2011 Thank You Party (we've raised over £104 million pounds so far don't you know) and had some silly fun with Comic Relief friends in a party photo booth:

Be back soon with my latest makes and inspiring things that fellow crafty friends have made!

* My Sister's New Shop! *

I'm so proud - my sister has started her new shop, 'Wonderfully Made' on Folksy! Here are some of the lovely giftys you can purchase from her - all handmade from vintage fabrics and materials:

She says: 'I love combining vintage materials with brand spanking new designs. Using different textures also gets me going...wool, velvet, cotton - they are all welcome friends in my creations.'

Go and have a peak at her shop and enjoy!
