Sunday Treat Time!

Night Time Boules

Woop - we got our 'pretty much brand new' Boules Set from a fabulous charity shop, St Francis Hospice (as found by Anna - thank you!), for a mere £20!


So tonight, Jon and I played 'Night Time Boules', with our Sun Jar lighting the garden for us (this is another recent purchase). It's magic - you leave it out in the sun in the day, and then it glows the 'suns rays' at night! Sunshine in your hands!

So, the game...

Jon was winning in the first 2 games, then I caught up and then over took him by 1 point...

...then Jon leveled with me: 5-5...

...but I won on the last game: 6-5!! You are meant to carry on until someone gets to 13 points - but it got too dark.

Jon consoled himself by posing French style with a Boule...

Ah, bien!
So two great buys this week - one that helps charity and the other helps the environment!

Friday Treat Time!

After a week or so of 'Friday Treat Time' deprivation, here's one that I think is soooo clever - you have all probably seen these clips already, but I haven't seen them before and think they're ace!

Meet Berta!

Made out of some old PJ bottoms, presenting the wonderful, the charming...

* BERTA *

'Hewoo!' says Berta.

There's lots of things Berta wants to share with you all, but for now, all you need to know is that she loves ice-cream (being born in the summer), strawberries (for obvious reasons)...

...and Bert is a great friend - they like singing together on the house tree stump:

Mulberry Jam and Fun Things

...Another thing I did this weekend was to pick more mulberries in my neighbour's garden and made some 'Rosi Bee Mulberry Jam' - yumm!

Picked some little carrots...

...and started on my new water feature :)

Lavender Cupcakes

As mentioned in my previous summer garden goodness post, I made some yummy lavender cupcakes yesterday, using lavender from my garden...





...whilst listening to the fabulous Puppini Sisters (check out their link below on their image)!


Jon and I ended the weekend sipping white tea and nibbling lavender cupcakes on a dusky evening.

Summer Garden Goodness

I just want to celebrate a dreamy summer's day:

Home-made flan, with salad and herbs from the garden and home-made plum chutney from friends at Christmas...yummm...

A BBQ with beautiful friends, jumping like mad on a giant trampoline and seeing the moon glimmer in the summer dusky sky...
A great end to a great day!

Boules Anyone?

For a while I have been wanting to get a Boules Set - an old one, from a dusty second hand shop/stall of course!


How charming to spend summer dusky evenings playing boules - Jon and I want to take a set away with us to all our holiday places to play with friends too (and wear a straw hat)...

If anyone sees a lovely set on their travels to their favourite charity shop haunts- can you let me know?

Firstly, an apology for neglecting my blog - I have been poorly since I last posted and haven't been able to do much crafting or making :(
