The 'Craft Nights' in the later months of 2009 that we have been running as part of our community (mainly me, Emma Togwell and Helen Newman) resulted setting up a stall at Emma and Helen's (and Phil and Ian's!) all day Christmas Party on 19th December. The idea was to sell all the things we had been making to raise money for charity. I had been working on some illustrations for my children's stories - 'Beatrice the Dancing Bee' and 'Alien Gardeners' (working title!), which included making felt skins for my aliens and flowers for Beatrice during my craft nights! They sold pretty well - it was great to see people of all ages showing an interest in my illustrations and getting quite attached to Beatrice Bee!
I also made some simple lanterns - I got the idea of using jam jars with garden wire at the Christmas Country Living Fair.
