My favourite childhood possesions No. 1

This was one of my most cherished possessions when I was a child - my care bear sharpener! It went every where with me -hence the selotape that now needs to hold it together! Care Bears = the best!

Buttons!

I HEART BUTTONS! Just a pretty pic of part of my button collection - more to follow...

Springtime Vibes!

This weekend had a very distinct spring-time feel to it - and to confirm it, the baby daffodils on my window sill blossomed...

To celebrate the spring vibe, I made some Hummingbird Bakery cupcakes for friends! I'm still learning about the art of baking, so am hoping I'll keep improving!

Sausage & Mash (S&M) Shop, Spitalfields

A great place to eat, get decor inspiration and matches my nails! Plus they gave me a free mug as its my birthday soon! What more could you ask for?

Beatrice the Dancing Bee

My latest book I'm working on is about a little bee called Beatrice, who loves dancing with the flowers - but the other bees don't approve. Poor Beatrice Bee! She goes on a journey to find where she can dance and be herself...

Here are some sneak previews - illustrations and pages!

Beatrice and the Queen Bee having a chat...Beatrice and the Hyacinths!

Beatrice feeling sad on a blue flower.
Happy dancing times!

'Alien Gardeners' Illustrations

Here are some of my 'Alien Gardeners' (working title!) illustrations for a children's story I'm working on. I have made all the skins out of various materials, including my own piece of felt (my first lesson in felting with friend Helen!), needle punching and even home grown vegetables!

Wanda the Alien started life as my first piece of felt!

Tina the Alien was created by ironing some special fabric (I have forgotten what it's called!):

'Swifts' (a small kind of alien in my story), 'Thump' and 'Fuzz' were made by taking a photo of my needle punching (also a new thing I learnt from friend Helen!)

Beep the Alien was made by a home grown courgette!

...And Bernard was made by green painted bubble wrap!

Elephant Story for Baby

I brought a cuddly elephant with baby, and made a little story book about them for my friends new born baby, Charlie - here are some highlights!

Ceramic Button Curtain Ties

Using red ribbon left over from Christmas, I wove it through some pretty ceramic buttons I brought at a RHS garden centre last autumn...

Fabric Birds

Inspired by Purl Bee with fabrics from the knit and stitch show! Thinking of painting the cage creamy white and adding more ribbons and fabric flowers...
