Wow - Friday has come around so quickly! But never fear - I have a VERY special treat for you! Friends Jono and Debbie showed me this - an incredible sand art film - from Ukriane's Got Talent. A very moving and beautiful piece -something maybe Britain's Go Talent could learn from?!

Charity Shop Find of the Week!

Here is my second charity shop find of the week - this one was found by me! I have been looking for the perfect place to keep my eggs safe (and not the fridge) and lo and behold - I found this beautiful hen in my local Cancer Research Charity Shop!

Sister Sue's Amazing Crafty House!

Say hello to my sister, Sue, who is somewhat a dab hand with embroidery, quilting (and this is only her first try!), making cushions, being very patient (which I'm not at all!) & crafty as well as having an eye for beautiful things - and her home is full of them!

And here's just a sneaky peek...

Sue's First Quilt:


Sue spent a good while selecting her fabrics, all carefully gathered from her visits to markets, shows and shops, such as the Knit&Stitch Show and Liberties to name a few!

My favourite fabric is the sweetie wrapper (pink and white lines)!



Wondrous cushions:
This one took about 6 months - all tiny cross stitches!


I LOVE the fabric of this cushy - v. Britannia Country Chic!


Button Mirror Frame:
Sue spent ages sticking on lots of lovely buttons onto her old wooden mirror frame... It was worth it!

Little girl painted on a tambourine & mermaid postcard in frame were found in the lovely Made in Hastings shop and stall - beautiful!!!

My favourite childhood possesions No. 2

My Peter Rabbit china cup and Mrs. Tiggywinkle bowl were THE breakfast items to use when breakfasting as a 4 year old!


I remember when my Peter Rabbit disappeared (I could only see his ears peeking out) when it was full of juice, and I drank the juice as fast as I could so Peter Rabbit could be 'rescued' from a flood of orange juice!


This bowl saw a lot of shredded wheat action - I always read the words around the edge and loved looking at the cute little mouse!


Now I have a little Beatrix Potter notebook made from an old Beatrix Potter book (by Much Ado Books - a lovely old book shop in Alfriston) to write my blog and story ideas!

Another new feature: Friday Treat Time!

I hereby promise that every Friday (well, most Fridays!) I'll post up a treat for your senses to get you excited and happy about the weekend! It could be a treat for your eyes, ears, heart, spirit - or if you're lucky, all of the above!

Today, this treat was found by husband Jon - a music video of the highest order by OK GO! This took 60 attempts and is filmed all in one shot (so you wouldn't want to be the one to mess up!)

Also - as a double Friday treat, here are some more Hummingbird cupcakes I've made using Fairtrade cocoa for our Guilt Free&Gorgeous Fairtrade Bake and Swap extravaganza at Comic Relief! Of course - I made sure the icing matched the teapot and teacups...

'Flower Felt Hair-Clip' Make

Inspired by one of the best crafty blogs around - 'A Beautiful Mess' (see 'My Blog List' for link), here's how I made a Flower Felt hair clip:

Get some squares of felt in your favourite flower colours, and all the equipment in the photo below:

Using one of your pieces of felt, cut out petal shapes.
Draw around your circle of strong cardboard (which will be the base of your hair clip) onto another piece of felt, cut out and stick it onto the circle base with strong glue.

Stick your petals onto the back of your cardboard base with the strong glue, making sure they are secure and aligned how you want. Leave to dry!

Once all the petals have been glued together and left to dry completely, sew the hair clip onto the back of the flower, wrapping the thread around a number of times until you are happy the clip is secure.

This was one of my most cherished possessions when I was a child - my care bear sharpener! It went every where with me -hence the selotape that now needs to hold it together! Care Bears = the best!
